It’s been almost three years since I was asked to be the “point person” for PEC’s custom website development service. I’ve learned a lot in the past three years. Learning to be the liaison between the customer, graphic designer and web developer is not easy. All three speak completely different and very distinct languages: Technical (web developer), Creative (graphic designer) and Ophthalmology Business (customer). When I help ophthalmology practices around the country manage their social media presence, I come across the same obstacle. Practices are not making it a priority to promote their social media sites internally. Here are 3 reasons why I think letting patient’s know you’re on Facebook or Twitter is just as important as giving them your phone number or website address. (more…)
