Website Development – The 5 Ds:

We don’t treat every website development project the same, because every project is NOT the same. There will be similarities, but your goals, your budgetary requirements and your website design will be unique, based on your desires and needs. Our approach to each project is what sets PEC apart from other developers – we call it “The 5 Ds”:

1. Discover

An initial meeting will be held online or in person to learn more about your practice, brand profile, specialties, and the key services you provide. We discuss your patient demographics and your expectations for your new website. A variety of example websites are reviewed to gain a solid understanding of what organizational flow, features and overall functionality appeals most to you and would best suit your patients’ needs.

Another key aspect of this meeting is to discuss the technical logistics of bringing a newly developed website online such as domain name, hosting and DNS management. Gathering this information at the beginning will make the project progress more quickly and efficiently.

2. Define

The web development team consisting of a project manager, designer and SEO manager, immediately goes to work defining your goals, content needs, navigation structure, design guidelines and SEO strategy based on the information collected during the Discovery meeting.

All of the information regarding your project is mapped out so that every project team member knows what needs to be done, when it needs to be done and who needs to do it. Your project manger is the keeper of the project map, and coordinates all the activities related your project from start, to finish.  Throughout the development process, your project manager will make sure you’re always kept in-the-loop on the development progress of your new website.

3. Design

Using a combination of your brand elements, preferred design aesthetics and our vast photography resources, we will create a website design that supports your practice brand and gives your practice a robust online presence.

4. Develop

When the structure and design are approved, it’s time to develop and add content to your new website. Development time varies depending on the complexity and size of your website, but the average 45-page website can be fully developed, quality checked and ready for your review within 4 to 6 weeks.

5. Deliver

We provide you with a link to review your website on our development server. This gives you the opportunity to become acquainted with your new website and provide us with feedback on any areas that may need improvement. When all the changes are complete and approved, we assist you with the process of taking your website live.

Laying a Solid Foundation with WordPress:

WordPress is an open source content management system (CMS) based on PHP and MySQL. Since its inception in 2003, there are 24 million active WordPress sites on the web as of April 2015. Patient Education Concepts launched its new website in January 2015.

I’ll give you three guesses which website platform we selected. Hint: It starts with a “W”. Simply stated: WordPress works. We use WordPress for the same reasons that CNN, Sony, GM, UPS, Forbes, Bloomberg and IBM use it. WordPress is a solid, secure and powerful platform that allows us to create beautiful, responsive and feature-rich websites.

With its vast programming options, there is no need for our developers to “reinvent the wheel” which allows us to spend more time  focusing on YOUR market, YOUR message and YOUR needs.

The WordPress platform is all about content creation and management as its CMS makes it relatively easy to add new content and edit existing content. Its inherent structure also helps our SEO experts implement an effective SEO strategy. Search engines find WordPress sites easy to index and therefore easy to find when patients search for your key search terms.
