Robert (Bob) Watson is the President and founder of Patient Education Concepts, Inc. (PEC). Bob became an entrepreneur servicing ophthalmologists after having Radial Keratotomy surgery performed on his eyes in 1982. Frustrated with a difficult post-operative recovery, he produced his first video on RK that quickly became the standard for informed consent and the template for many other refractive videos used by ophthalmologists all around the world today.

PEC’s product line has expanded over the years and now includes videos, brochures, posters, pocket folders, websites and web based marketing tools.

In 2007, Bob teamed up with Eyeland Design Network of Germany to produce the IOL Counselor™ Vision Simulator Software to help patients choose premium IOLs over standard monofocal IOLs and in 2008 produced the LVC Counselor™ to help counselors explain the difference between conventional and custom laser vision correction.

Today, Bob and the animation experts with Eyeland Design Network have released over 100 patient education videos and over 1000 3-D images within their Sight Selector™ products that include Sight Selector for computers, for websites, and for iPads.

With the introduction of laser cataract surgery, Bob was called in to help Dr. Stephen Slade market his femtosecond laser after Dr. Slade performed the first laser cataract surgery procedure in the United States in 2010. Today, he is heavily involved in helping bring this exciting new technology to hundreds of practices with an expansive line of patient education and marketing tools focused on femtosecond lasers.

Bob has been a Texan for most of his 60+ years. He and his wife Barbara are empty nesters that are totally addicted to golf. When not on the course, you can usually find them at the park pushing a swing with their adorable 4 year old grandson, Jones.
