If you are considering purchasing multiple iPads for use in your practice we recommend contacting our office at 800-436-9126 for guidance with best practices on setting-up a synchronization process for your iPad(s)/iPhone(s).
How much does it cost?
There are two version of the Sight Selector for iPad and iPhone.
- Sight Selector Premium - Contains 50 topics and costs $449. This is a one time fee not an annual fee. After purchasing the 50 Individual topics, click on the STORE tab at the bottom. Many new topics will appear that are available to purchase individually as optional topics.
- Sight Selector Lite – This version comes with the Eye Anatomy topic for FREE. Then, you can pick-and-choose which topics you want to purchase. Again, this is a one time fee. SIGHT SELECTOR LITE Individual topics sold within an APP are called In-Apps. Our In-App topics also include a series of 3D images and narrated video for each topic. Individual topic prices range from $4.99 to $49.99 each.

Once you buy an app, only the apps you own show up on your device. At the bottom of the screen, click on the "STORE" tab to view the list of additional topics you may purchase individually.”

What about updates to the App software and the availability of new topics?
Apple provides us with the ability to do what is called a “push notification”. This means, we can push a message out to all people that have purchase the Sight Selector for iPad & iPhone. The notification will appear within the App below the Available Topics bar if the App is open when the notification arrives. If it is not open at the time we transmit it, it will appear as a RED Dot with a number inside in the upper right hand corner of the App Store button on the I Pad Menu. When you select App Store, you can click on Updates and see a message from us explaining what has changed.
New topics will also be introduced through Push Notification. If you have purchased the Sight Selector Premium, after electing to update, it will appear as a Sight Selector Lite by adding the “Touch here to see available topics for purchase” button. You will not be buying topics with upgrades, you will only be updating the software to make the software better and to add more topics to the “available topics” list.
Can I use other videos I own in the Sight Selector program?
Yes. You can add any program that is in the MPG-4 format into the Sight Selector. To do this, you will first transfer the video file into your iTunes "Movies" library. Then sync your device to your iTunes Account. Then check the Movies in your Library that you want to "Apply" to your device. You may then add your videos to a "Play List" by clicking on the +Add Video from Library tab and select the video you want to add to your list, then click DONE. You can then save and name the list so it will now appear within the "Save Play List" tab.
Which iPad should I buy?
There are currently three price points for the iPad. The least expensive is the Wi-Fi model with a 16GB hard drive. This means it can only connect to the Internet when you are within an open Wi-Fi network. The Sight Selector Premium only takes up 580 Mega Bytes. So we recommend the 16GB unit that sells for less than $500.Note: If you plan to use other programs on your iPad, you should consider the system requirements of those programs when making your decision of which unit to purchase.
Do I need to be connected to Wi-Fi to use the Sight Selector App?
Wi-Fi access is not required to run the Sight Selector program. When you purchase and download the program from the App Store, the program files are downloaded onto your device’s hard drive.
What is the best way to download it?
You can download it within your iTunes program then sync it to your iPad or iPhone, or you can purchase and download via the App Store on your iPad or iPhone directly if you are within a Wi-Fi network and have an established iTunes™ Account. Because the application is larger than most (due to the high quality images and videos) we don’t recommend using the 3G network to download (if you own an iPad with 3G connectivity). We recommend downloading it while connected to a Wi-fi Network.
What new topics are you working on?
We have had requests for topics such as dispensing, facial plastics, pediatric, retinal and additional general ophthalmology. Which ones we publish first is still in planning and development. Please let us know if you have ideas for topics or ideas for improving the software.
How do I find the Sight Selector in the App store?
