How is the Sight Selector Practice Edition different from other patient education programs that include video and animation?
The Sight Selector Practice Edition uses a combination of 3D animations with real-life patient perspective scenes to help patients better relate to their eye conditions and treatment options. Do I get the IOL Counselor and LVC Counselor Interactive Tools with the Sight Selector Practice Edition for no extra charge?
Yes. Starting with Version 3.10, we have added both of these interactive vision simulation tools.
What is the IOL Counselor Interactive Tool for?
The IOL Counselor provides simulations of the differences that the various IOLs would make in a patient’s post-operative vision using both day and nighttime scenarios. It also contains simulations that explain refractive errors. Using the slider bar, patients are systematically led from standard to premium IOL simulations depicting how they might see post-operatively in both day and nighttime scenarios.
What is the LVC Counselor Interactive Tool for?
The LVC Counselor provides an overview of conventional versus custom laser vision correction outcomes. It also contains simulations that explain refractive errors. Using the slider bar, patients are systematically led from conventional to custom simulations depicting how they might see post-operatively in both day and nighttime scenarios.
Does the Sight Selector Practice Edition allow me to create and name playlists?
Yes. To create, name, or play back a playlist, click on the small down arrow button located just under the “Please Choose A Category” header.
Build your playlist by selecting the topics you want from the program list on the left (one at a time), then click on “Transfer Topic”. This creates a “Current Play List” which you can play or repeat by selecting “Repeat Videos” or “Play Selected Videos” below the list.
To save the playlist you created in the “Current Play List” click on “Save Playlist” where you will be asked to name the playlist. Type-in a name for this specific play list and click on the arrow button to the right, pointing toward the “Saved Playlists” section.
To play back one of your Saved Playlists , clear the list in the “Current Play List” select the name of the list you want to play and load it back into “Current Play List” and then select “Play Selected Videos” or “Repeat Videos”.
What are the computer requirements?
PEC’s Sight Selector Practice Edition is a Macromedia® based FLASH software program. It takes up a relatively small amount of space on a hard drive. The actual program size is dependent on the number of topics selected. Here are some approximate guidelines:
All Topics = 2 gb
24 Topics = 500 mb
12 Topics = 250 mb

Sight Selector Practice Edition is both PC and Mac compatible.

How much does it cost?

Does the program come on a CD?
The software can be delivered via CD or a download link.
Can I integrate my video or other PEC programs within the Sight Selector Practice Edition?
Yes. You can integrate any of our inform consent videos, as well as any custom videos you’ve created. These will reside in your External Videos category and they can be added to play lists.
Can I print a handout of any topic to give to patients to take home?
Yes. Our current version now provides the ability to print a one page handout of each topic (with the exception of the reception room topics and the Anatomy topic) that includes your practice name at the top, text from the narrated video and color 3D images to support the text.
How will I receive new topic updates?
As we make new content available we will notify you of the topic, allow you to preview the video and still images on our website, and advise you of the cost to add the new content to your existing program. We will provide you a new program installation CD or download link including the new topics you elect to purchase. You will then need to install the updated program on your computer(s).
How do I get the Sight Selector programs on my website, iPad or iPhone?
